Chalet Comellas is a new media artist working with text, electronics, video, and paint. Her works blend gestural abstraction with digital applications, reflecting philosophical ideas on collective consciousness, mediation, and “human-in-the-loop” systems. Her interdisciplinary works are often exhibited as installations and evoke conversations about our current entanglement with algorithms, online platforms, and the ever-growing presence of artificial intelligence in our daily lives.

Comellas, born in Tampa, FL, lives and works in Nashville, TN. She has a research-based art practice and has taught digital foundations as well as lecture courses on contemporary art. In addition to studio work and teaching she has curated solo and group exhibitions with Unrequited Leisure Gallery and AIR_space Projects.
